My Opinion: The Weaponization of Lenguage

Language itself has been used as a tool of concealment. Euphemisms like collateral damage or neutralization soften the reality of murder. A child is not described as “obliterated” but becomes a non-combat fatality. Similarly, 'enhanced interrogation' is used to describe torture, 'friendly fire' to describe accidental killing of one's own forces, and 'ethnic cleansing' to describe genocide. Such phrases anesthetize empathy and numb moral responsibility.As a speech and language pathologist, I have seen how words shape perception. When vocabulary hides truth, consciousness itself becomes muted. To reclaim liberty, one must first liberate thought from imposed narratives.
